Job Summary

We are seeking highly dedicated middle school educators who have a track record of instructional excellence and who are willing to continuously go above and beyond for students.

Responsibilities

  • Instructional Leadership
    • Develop and implement effective, rigorous instruction in their content areas that produce high-quality results and student understanding.
    • Regularly track student data and leverage it to guide instructional practices.
  • Classroom Management

    • Implement student management policies within classrooms and everywhere on campus.

    • Establish and maintain strong communication lines with all families.
    • Attend school-wide events, such as open houses, family conferences, and other events involving families.

    • Work alongside and collaborate with Team Teacher to execute daily lesson plans.
    • Prioritize instructional practices that enable real-time feedback to students.
  • Assessment and Data Analysis
    • Use formative assessment data to inform both short and long-term instructional decisions that promote all students' academic performance.
    • Embrace and incorporate feedback in the spirit of constant improvement.
  • Support for Diverse Learners

Qualifications

  • Teaching License
    • Valid Indiana teaching license or in the process of applying for reciprocity with a valid out-of-state license.
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience
    • Minimum of 2 years teaching in an urban public middle school.
    • Strong record of helping students from underserved neighborhoods achieve academic success.
    • Experience in analyzing student data and using data to inform instruction.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Unquestioned integrity and commitment to the KIPP Indy mission and community.
    • Possess a strong knowledge of the content area and have met all required educator standards for their content area.

Salary is competitive, commensurate with experience, and includes benefits. Teachers are also eligible for performance-based bonuses.
