About the Visual Communications Specialist Role:

We are in search of a skilled and enthusiastic Visual Communications Specialist with robust technical and creative abilities to join our team as a Contractor. The ideal candidate will contribute to the growth of the Grassroots Carbon brand by producing captivating and engaging content for various digital marketing platforms, including social media, websites, and email, as well as for offline marketing initiatives such as events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Grassroots Carbon Leadership team to create effective marketing communications that establish a cohesive brand voice and visual identity, ultimately enhancing the business and brand presence.
  • Stay updated on social media and digital marketing trends, adapting seamlessly across graphic design for both online and offline formats.
  • Maintain a high level of organization and effective communication to work collaboratively with leadership and team members across all business areas.
  • Design high-quality graphics, infographics, and other visual content, including motion graphics, to support our marketing and communication strategies.
  • Craft engaging and impactful copy for social media posts, website content, email campaigns, and event promotions.
  • Assist in managing and organizing digital assets, including images, videos, and design files.
  • Provide support for additional marketing and communication tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • A drive, passion, and unwavering optimism with a minimum of 3 years of experience and the necessary skills to deliver exceptional design across a variety of mediums.
  • Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and an interest in leveraging AI-supported efficiencies in marketing.
  • Strong creative and visual storytelling capabilities, including copywriting skills with the ability to tailor tone and style for diverse platforms and audiences.
  • A commitment to the craft, with strong problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and a proactive approach.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, coupled with strong communication abilities.
  • A collaborative team player willing to go above and beyond.
  • A passion for contributing to the regenerative movement.
  • A basic understanding of soil carbon storage and regenerative land management practices is beneficial, though this knowledge can be acquired on the job with a genuine interest in aligning with a purpose-driven organization.
  • Previous experience in a startup environment is preferred but not mandatory; an understanding of a fast-paced, high-growth company is essential.
  • A willingness to work from our offices in downtown San Antonio.
