Job Title: Workforce Development Program Manager, SCCTC

The Saline County Career Technical Campus (SCCTC) is seeking a highly skilled Workforce Development Program Manager to lead our efforts in developing robust workforce development/training efforts responsive to Saline County's needs and the surrounding region.

Job Summary:

This position reports to the SCCTC Assistant Vice Chancellor and serves as a liaison between business/industry and the campus. The successful candidate will be responsible for engagement, program marketing, record keeping, state reporting, and the development and evaluation of workforce training programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contact businesses and industries regularly to assess their training needs.
  • Develop and implement customized workforce training programs to meet the needs of business and industry clients.
  • Establish and maintain records of all trainings, including instructor payroll information and client feedback.
  • Work collaboratively with campus stakeholders to develop contractual agreements that maximize college profit.
  • Coordinate services such as maintenance, room set-up, and oversight of training; overhead projector, computers, LCD projector, screens, ordering class materials, registration, evaluations, etc.
  • Ensure client complaints are addressed appropriately and in a timely manner to optimize overall customer satisfaction.
  • Organize, plan, and execute events such as workforce camps, workforce conferences, etc.
  • Convey college and client expectations and guidelines to assigned adjunct faculty.
  • Provide training feedback to clients based on in-class evaluations.
  • File weekly reports with the AVC describing activities completed the previous week.
  • Work collaboratively to establish annual goals for Workforce Development.
  • Ensure that workforce training goals are met - including revenue generation.
  • Ensure that any required reports are filed in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and submit Workforce Development grant funding applications as deemed appropriate.
  • Coordinate annual budget recommendations.
  • Travel as required.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated excellent supervisory, administrative, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with students, college employees, and the public.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with local and regional business and industry leaders.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset that is willing to set big goals and work toward accomplishing those goals.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills in handling, directing, and prioritizing multiple and complex assignments and projects.
  • Skill in working effectively in a team environment with a customer service focus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; and effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or our governing board.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a concentration in accounting or business administration.
  • Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible administrative experience in the business office functional area at a comprehensive community college or university.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting and planning customized workforce training programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing and submitting grant applications.
  • DDI Certified facilitator.
