This role necessitates certification as a Dietetic Technician or as a Certified Dietary Manager. Candidates should be prepared to work occasional weekends and some holidays, and must be able to assist the kitchen team during evening meal service.

It is essential for candidates to be fully vaccinated or in the process of vaccination to be eligible for this position.

POSITION OVERVIEW

As a vital member of the care team, the Nutritional Services Clerk will support patients and residents with their menu choices, maintain serveries, and input dietary information into the computer system. This position is crucial and must be executed in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, as well as the established dietary policies and procedures of the facility. The clerk will report directly to the Manager or Director of Food and Nutrition Services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Prioritize tasks effectively to ensure timely completion of assignments.
  2. Review units daily for diet slips and menus.
  3. Input dietary information for newly admitted patients and update records for current residents.
  4. Maintain stock levels in serveries.
  5. Distribute weekly menus to all patients and assist them with their meal selections as necessary.
  6. Generate a daily patient/resident listing for the culinary team.
  7. Prepare menus for the following day and organize them accordingly.
  8. Track and tally completed menus as they are submitted, updating records for any late submissions.
  9. Verify that all menus are returned by comparing them to the patient/resident listing and assist with any missing submissions.
  10. Make necessary adjustments to menus and dietary records in the computer system.
  11. Assist on the meal line as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School Student, High School Graduate, or General Education Degree (GED)

Experience: No prior experience is required; training will be provided.

Attendance: Must be able to work scheduled shifts and demonstrate commitment to the team and residents.
