Role Responsibilities and QualificationsAs a Registered Nurse, you will be tasked with delivering exceptional, patient-focused care in accordance with departmental protocols and state regulations. You will collaborate with healthcare providers and the care team to offer tailored, compassionate care, adhering to established nursing practices.
This position is full-time, day shift (7am-7pm) within our advanced 30-bed Medical Oncology unit, dedicated to patients diagnosed with cancer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the care and accountability for assigned patients.
- Facilitate the efficient flow of patient care, including screening, preparation for examinations, and coordination of admissions and discharges.
- Maintain and update patient records, ensuring accurate documentation of tests and results.
- Administer medications as per physician directives.
- Educate patients and families on medication and treatment plans.
- Handle incoming calls, including potential phone triage as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program; an Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is required.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the practicing state or possession of an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is mandatory.
