About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at American University. As a key member of our digital media department, you will be responsible for designing, managing, and monitoring the technical infrastructure and performance of our digital products and platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement technical solutions using cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google advertising and optimization platforms.
  • Manage and maintain an array of web, audio, and internal platforms, including WordPress application hosting and Linux server administration.
  • Collaborate with digital media stakeholders to understand system operation workflows and expectations, and provide technical support as needed.
  • Architect creative and reliable solutions to business needs by improving existing services and systems integrations, and developing new ones.
  • Monitor and respond to emerging and changing needs, and act as a system expert to respond to end-user requests for help and support.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer or information technology field.
  • 2-4 years of professional experience in designing, creating, and maintaining technical solutions using cloud platforms.
  • Previous experience managing complex WordPress application hosting and general proficiency with Linux server administration.
  • Basic scripting proficiency with Javascript or other languages.
  • Cloud Certification preferred.
