Job Overview

Location: Remote

Position Summary:
The Risk Management Consultant acts as the primary liaison between the Integrated Risk Management team and various Business Units. This role is crucial for documenting and facilitating the resolution of issues identified through audits, examinations, and self-assessments, while also addressing inquiries from Business Units.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in Technology and Cybersecurity Risk on assigned committees, fostering strong relationships with internal clients and senior management.
  • Ensure that bank policies and procedures align with current banking regulations and laws, continuously monitoring for updates.
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of business processes, risk profiles, and controls to ensure compliance with risk management frameworks.
  • Advise Business Units on risk and control requirements for new products, services, and third-party activities.
  • Collaborate with management to identify and assess technology and cybersecurity risks in alignment with Enterprise Risk Frameworks.
  • Utilize established risk tools to identify regulatory risks within supported Business Units.
  • Assist Business Units in managing risks through established workflows and processes.
  • Analyze findings from audits and self-assessments to determine root causes and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to Business Units, ensuring understanding of associated risks and regulations.
  • Track identified issues within risk management software, monitoring progress and providing updates as necessary.
  • Contribute to policy development and implementation for new products and services.
  • Keep Business Units informed of regulatory changes and provide guidance for compliance.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen interdepartmental relationships to support business objectives.
  • Support the enhancement of the Integrated Risk Management activities and assist colleagues in the Risk department.
  • Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations, including compliance training.
  • Assist leadership with various projects and assignments as required.
  • Embrace a proactive mindset that aligns with the organization's culture.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of banking policies and operational standards.
  • Familiarity with Information Technology architecture and cybersecurity concepts.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and risk management practices.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams.
  • Strong relationship-building skills across all levels of the organization.
Education and Experience:
Associates or Bachelor's Degree in finance or a related field, along with 3+ years of experience in risk management, audit, or compliance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification in Risk Management preferred.

Working Conditions:
Work is primarily conducted in an office or home office environment with minimal hazards. May require occasional travel for meetings or training.
