Project Manager for Turbine Services - Vogtle 3&4
The Fleet Turbine Services (FTS) division at Southern Nuclear is seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to take on the role of Site Turbine Services Project Manager for Vogtle 3&4. This role is pivotal in orchestrating the planning, preparation, coordination, and execution of Turbine-Generator operations during Refueling Outages. The selected candidate will lead a team comprising employees, vendors, and contractors, ensuring that all outage-related tasks at the site adhere to safety, compliance, reliability, efficiency, and workforce excellence standards.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be tasked with:
- Overseeing outage activities to ensure they align with established procedures and work order guidelines.
- Taking ownership of business and management objectives, guiding team alignment to achieve these targets.
- Engaging actively with the outage workforce to guarantee safe, efficient, and effective execution of work.
- Monitoring outage personnel to provide guidance and coaching that reinforces safety protocols and positive behaviors.
- Identifying and implementing best practices and initiatives for continuous improvement.
- Participating in benchmarking and assessment activities as required.
- Evaluating potential challenges and technical issues, devising effective solutions.
- Managing documentation and logs related to outages.
- Communicating with vendors and contractors to clarify outage requirements, scope, and objectives.
Education:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is preferred.
- A minimum of two years of experience with Turbine/Generator systems is essential.
- One year of experience in commercial or Navy nuclear settings is preferred.
- Leadership or supervisory experience is strongly favored.
- Experience in work planning is advantageous.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Proficient problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with OSHA and NRC regulations, along with an understanding of plant design and functionality.
- Knowledge of union contracts is preferred.
- Proficient in relevant software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Teams, IDDEAL, etc.
- Experience with Maximo and Primavera (P6) is a plus.
