Position Overview
This role is essential for the effective management of recreational activities for children aged 6 to 12 years within the Parks & Community Services Department. The selected candidate will work under the guidance of the Recreation Specialist, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for all participants.
Work Schedule
The program operates Monday through Thursday from 1:15 PM to 6:30 PM and Fridays from 11:00 AM to 6:30 PM. Availability during these hours is a strict requirement for applicants.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage children in various activities, including arts and crafts, games, and sports.
- Plan and organize daily schedules and special events to enhance the recreational experience.
- Maintain a safe and supportive atmosphere for all participants.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum age of 15 years.
- Preferred prior experience working with children.
Certification Requirements
Standard First Aid and CPR certifications are mandatory upon hiring for this position. Additionally, this role is classified as a mandated reporter.
