This team is responsible for comprehensive thematic analysis and spearheads projects aimed at automation and transformational initiatives across the organization.

Role Summary:

The Operational Risk Intermediate Analyst is a developing professional role that reports to the Analysis and Reporting Governance Lead. This position involves addressing most challenges independently while possessing the latitude to tackle complex issues. The analyst integrates specialized knowledge with a robust understanding of industry standards and practices, ensuring alignment with the objectives of the sub-function/job family.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analyses to support governance and assist in the execution of Management and Board Committees.
  • Evaluate the quality, completeness, and accuracy of committee materials.
  • Identify escalations, risk, and control topics for root cause analysis, collaborating with Controls and Business/process owners to confirm comprehensive corrective actions and enhancements.
  • Provide critical assessment to ensure appropriate escalation in accordance with Citigroup Governance Policy and Escalation Policy.
  • Analyze issues, escalations, and control breaches, sharing insights across business units to foster process improvements and mitigate future risks.
  • Analyze Operational and Compliance Risk in line with established Policy requirements.
  • Support the identification, assessment, recording, and response to Operational and Compliance Risk events, ensuring timely and accurate capture in accordance with requirements.
  • Assist in implementing standards and procedures that meet enterprise requirements and promote effective operational and compliance risk management.
  • Assess risks associated with business decisions, prioritizing the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets by ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently within a complex organizational structure.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Project management skills and knowledge of MCA.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to apply analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies.
  • Attention to detail in making judgments and recommendations based on factual information analysis.
  • Experience dealing with variable issues that may have broader business implications.
  • Strong communication and diplomacy skills for exchanging complex or sensitive information.
