Job Summary

The Cardiac Sonographer is a vital member of the WellStar Health System, Inc. team, responsible for performing high-quality echocardiography procedures to diagnose and treat cardiovascular diseases. This role requires strong technical skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform echocardiography procedures, including adult, pediatric, and transesophageal echocardiograms, to diagnose and treat cardiovascular diseases.
  • Operate and maintain echocardiography equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
  • Provide excellent patient care, ensuring patient comfort, dignity, and safety throughout the examination process.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient examinations, including images and reports.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with the latest echocardiography techniques and technologies.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program.
  • Registered Medical Sonographer or Registered Cardiac Sonographer certification.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in echocardiography or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong technical skills and attention to detail.
