Custodial Floor Technician

INTRODUCTION

- Core working hours are from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
- The hourly wage is set at $19.39.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform sweeping and mopping of hallways, offices, and staircases.
- Utilize buffers for waxing and buffing floors.
- Execute stripping and waxing of floors.
- Shampoo rugs and carpets as needed.
- Conduct high dusting and cleaning in offices, hallways, and staircases.
- Carry out general cleaning tasks such as emptying trash and recycling, low dusting, glass cleaning, vacuuming, wall washing, spot cleaning, and restroom sanitation.
- Prepare cleaning solutions as required.
- Maintain and care for issued cleaning equipment.
- Notify supervisors regarding the need for supplies and equipment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Custodial Foreman.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Under the supervision of the Custodial Foreman, this role involves executing cleaning tasks to meet custodial contract specifications.
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS
The incumbent must be capable of standing for 80% of the work duration, walking for 15%, and sitting for 5%. The ability to lift or carry 50 pounds and push or pull the same weight is essential for managing supplies and equipment. Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and handling are necessary for cleaning various areas. Effective communication with supervisors and colleagues is required, along with the ability to see, perceive depth, and distinguish colors for safety and chemical identification.
QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of three years of cleaning experience and one year specifically in floor care is required. Candidates must successfully complete medical examinations and pass security clearance for designated contracts.
