At OrthoNY, we're seeking a highly skilled Clinical Access Coordinator to join our team. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring seamless patient experiences from the very first interaction.

Job Overview

Responsibilities

  • Prepare appointments for the following day to ensure accuracy of data – to include but not limited to ensuring all required fields and forms are present and complete, eligibility has been run and benefits pulled forward, new vs. established patient status has been properly identified and insurance responsibility is accurate;
  • Greet patients promptly and professionally;
  • Answer incoming phone calls professionally;
  • Review any necessary data/forms with patients to ensure accurate and complete records are in the EMR;
  • Collect copayments and balances properly;
  • Perform responsibilities within OrthoNY's practice management system in a standard manner as defined by the Patient Access Supervisor/Manager;
  • Work and communicate with other departments as needed to ensure timely and accurate processing of patient information and throughput to the clinic;
  • Reconcile daily payments received with the system batch, ensuring proper accounting for all payments taken, accurately compiling reports and closing individual financial batches for each day;
  • Review patient follow-up requirements on check out, making any necessary follow-up appointments as well as following proper protocols for any tests needing to be scheduled;
  • Print (or send to patient portal) any handouts that need to be given to patients;
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and comply with HIPAA standards;
  • Maintain a neat and organized workspace, and restock supplies as needed;
  • Travel to other offices as needed for coverage;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required; some higher education preferred;
  • Knowledge of medical insurances preferred;
  • Exceptional customer service skills required;
  • Experience working with an EMR/PM required;
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail;
  • Ability to multitask in a high-volume environment;
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Estimated salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year.
