About the Role:
Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) is seeking a dedicated Counselor for Adoption Support & Preservation to provide essential therapeutic services to adopted children and their families. This full-time position operates Monday through Friday, with some evening hours required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough assessments to identify the therapeutic needs of clients.
- Collaborate with children, families, and Child Welfare Services staff to create tailored treatment plans.
- Deliver counseling and therapeutic interventions to individuals, families, and groups.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all necessary reports, documentation, and billing.
- Engage in the supervisory process under the mentorship of licensed clinicians.
Qualifications:
- A Master's degree in Counseling or Social Work is required.
- Possession of licensure (LCSW, LCPC, LMFT) or a commitment to pursue licensure.
- Familiarity with DSM 5/ICD-10 is essential.
- Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills are necessary.
- A valid Illinois driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
