Position Overview

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a dedicated CAD/BIM Designer to contribute to our mission of delivering exceptional service in the realm of water management. As a creative and employee-owned firm, we prioritize a collaborative environment that fosters innovation and professional growth.

Role Responsibilities

In this role, you will take charge of coordinating the creation of design drawings and models across various engineering disciplines, including civil, structural, mechanical, architectural, HVAC, electrical, and instrumentation. Your expertise will be essential in supporting engineers with the design and development of:

  • Process-mechanical piping systems
  • Equipment layouts
  • Reinforced concrete structures
  • Structural steel designs for diverse water and wastewater initiatives

Additionally, you will mentor and guide fellow CAD designers to ensure that all project requirements are met effectively.

Key Duties Include:

  • Ensuring compliance with company and client CAD/BIM/Civil standards and styles in all drawing efforts.
  • Preparing detailed plan, section, and elevation drawings for various mechanical processes, including piping, pumps, and blowers.
  • Creating BIM models, Revit families, and CAD files necessary for contract document production.
  • Collaborating with other disciplines such as structural, architectural, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, instrumentation, and site civil.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience with Revit and AutoCAD in the design drawing production for industrial facilities.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering multi-year projects within collaborative, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in the design of industrial water systems, power generation facilities, or petrochemical complexes.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Plant 3D or similar Smart P&ID software is preferred.
