Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Specialist

The E&I Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing maintenance services to internal customers. This role involves executing site preventative maintenance activities while communicating effectively with internal customers and outside service providers and suppliers. The position will also support capital construction and commissioning activities.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, execute, and record periodic maintenance and repair on terminal electrical equipment and instrumentation in a computerized maintenance program.
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on all terminal equipment.
- Assist the Operations and Drumming Departments as required.
- Coordinate with other Maintenance Technicians and other Departments.
- Participate in the terminal emergency response organization and wear an SCBA and other chemical PPE as needed.
- Provide after-hours and weekend support on a routine call rotation and occasionally as job duties demand.
- Drive a company vehicle.
- May operate heavy equipment depending on the E&I Maintenance Technician position being filled.
- Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Industrial E&I Trade School or equivalent.
- At least five years of experience in an industrial setting. This requirement can be waived by IMTT depending on educational background and/or other occupational experience.
- General experience in maintenance, electrical, and instrumentation in a chemical manufacturing or storage facility.
- Valid Driver's License.
- TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credentials) for access to IMTT's terminal locations.
- Skills and Abilities
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
- Ability to understand written and verbal communication in the English language.
- Ability to make decisions in a variable environment.
- Must be a team player, responsible, and trustworthy.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to self-direct work and problem-solving skills.
- Must have computer literacy - Access, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
This job operates in an industrial maintenance shop and in an outdoor environment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job requires the ability to lift up to 25 pounds, bend, stand, or stoop, as necessary. Ability to perform climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, and moderate lifting. Must be able to work in confined spaces, over water, and not be afraid of heights. Ability to wear and use a respirator.
The large scale of the operation and the extensive layout of the facility require that the applicant have the ability to walk and stand on uneven terrain, to climb stairs and ladders, and traverse inclines: uphill, downhill, or mixed. Furthermore, because the facility and adjoining facilities handle hazardous materials, the applicant must be able to ingress and egress in foreseeable emergencies. The applicant must be able to work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.
