Electrical Engineer Job Description

OxyChem is a leading North American manufacturer of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resins, chlorine, and caustic soda. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Geismar, Louisiana.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to OxyChem's safety policies and procedures.
  • Provide technical support for electrical equipment maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
  • Develop and implement electrical maintenance programs to ensure reliability and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve electrical-related issues and improve plant performance.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and OxyChem's electrical safety guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain electrical documentation, including schematics, diagrams, and procedures.
  • Provide training and guidance to electrical maintenance personnel on new technologies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical maintenance or engineering in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electrical design software.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and standards, including NFPA 70 and NFPA 70E.
  • Experience with electrical equipment up to 230KV level.
  • Good working knowledge of SAP and other electrical design software.
