Position Responsibilities: The Project Engineer will coordinate injection molding project activities, focusing on sourcing tooling, materials, machinery, and automation while ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Key Duties:

  • Engage with customers, suppliers, toolmakers, and external engineering professionals.
  • Facilitate and coordinate project meetings to ensure timely project completion and transition to production.
  • Provide technical assistance to the sales department.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including project timelines and cost estimates for tooling, parts, and engineering services.
  • Manage the sourcing of injection mold tooling and related equipment from both domestic and international suppliers.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to validate the injection molding process and work cell through IQ, OQ, and PQ validation.
  • Oversee engineering modifications and mold repairs using internal and external resources.
  • Offer training and support to engineering and production technician teams.
  • Assist with current production challenges, focusing on troubleshooting and process enhancements.
  • Engage in initiatives aimed at improving cycle times and overall processes.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards and safety regulations.
  • Apply industry best practices to internal systems and processes.
  • Plan and organize layouts for production line adjustments based on volume fluctuations or workforce changes.
  • Understand and implement all plant policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Certified Moldmaker or Associate's Degree, or a combination of education and experience; Bachelor's Degree in Plastics Engineering is preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of injection mold tooling construction to enhance cycle times and production outputs.
  • Familiarity with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
  • 3-5 years of experience in an ISO 13485 certified injection molding environment.
  • Other Qualifications: Strong written and verbal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders. Basic equipment knowledge and advanced ability to interpret technical drawings and utilize measuring tools, along with strong mathematical skills.
