Overview:
The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Graduate Assistant in Marketing and Communications within the School of Professional & Continuing Education. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in marketing initiatives that support educational programs and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will collaborate closely with the Director of Marketing & Recruitment. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the promotion of programs across various digital platforms and with external partners.
- Tracking social media analytics and ensuring data accuracy for strategic marketing planning.
- Contributing to the development of innovative marketing strategies and guidelines.
- Supporting the creation of written communications, including recruitment emails, newsletters, and press announcements.
- Assisting in advancement initiatives for the department.
- Performing additional tasks as required.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Strong skills in graphic design.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Exceptional communication abilities (verbal, written, and visual).
- Experience with social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram.
- A professional and approachable demeanor.
- Experience in engaging diverse audiences across various demographics.
Employment Conditions:
Candidates may apply for this assistantship prior to acceptance into a graduate program. However, to qualify for the assistantship upon entry, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Conditional or unconditional acceptance into a graduate program.
- Submission of an official transcript confirming the completion of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Maintenance of a minimum 3.0 graduate GPA to retain or reapply for the assistantship.
