Land Surveyor

Assist in field data collection for the completion of various maps, including topographical and property line surveys, damage and acquisition surveys, completion surveys, and plan and profile maps for infrastructure and public buildings construction projects.
Additional responsibilities include assisting with the drafting of field sketches, level notes, and various documents pertaining to the maintenance of survey equipment within an assigned vehicle.
Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position. The City of New York does not provide sponsorship for international employees for visa applications, extensions, or status changes, including STEM/OPT visas.
Qualifications
1. Education and Experience: A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in surveying, surveying engineering, surveying engineering technology, or similar surveying-related majors, and two years of full-time satisfactory land surveying experience.
2. Alternative Qualifications: An associate degree from an accredited college or university in surveying-related majors and four years of full-time satisfactory experience as described above, or a four-year high school diploma or its equivalent and six years of full-time satisfactory experience.
3. Additional Requirements: A motor vehicle driver license valid in the State of New York, which must be maintained for the duration of employment.
