Job Title: Health Specialist Liaison

ICF International Inc is seeking a highly skilled Health Specialist Liaison to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will serve as a liaison between the Regional and Central Office of Head Start (OHS) and the National Center on Health and Wellness, as well as other agencies relevant to the work of the Regional Office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide subject matter expertise, strategies, and resources to Regional Office and TTA staff on comprehensive health services, such as mental health and environmental health and safety, as well as strategies for engaging staff and families around issues on health.
  • Serve as a member of a national peer group of Health Specialists from each of the twelve regions.
  • Develop and implement strategies for connecting with grantee health managers and/or coordinators in the Region.
  • Aggregate, analyze, and disseminate regional and grantee health data from existing government systems to identify emerging trends impacting Head Start grantees.
  • Develop and provide presentations and training on topics related to early childhood health, mental health, safety, and other related topics.
  • Provide direct service to individual grantees, at the direction of the Regional Office.
  • Support emerging OHS initiatives and priorities.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of a BA or a BS from an accredited university or college in public health, health education, maternal and child health, health administration or related degree.
  • A minimum of three years' experience related to health services in early childhood programs such as Head Start/Early Head Start, maternal and child health, school health or community health programs specific to the development and implementation of comprehensive health services for young children and families.
  • 1 + years of experience analyzing health related data and helping programs make data driven decisions.
  • 1 + years of experience providing training and technical assistance related to health services for children birth to five, including work with management teams and program staff.
  • 1 + years of experience facilitating group discussions and presenting to range of audiences.
  • 1 + years of experience with programs serving children from diverse backgrounds such as children with special health care needs, children with disabilities, children who are dual language learners, children in family childcare settings, and/or children who are homeless.
  • 1+ year experience communicating, both orally and in writing, to various audiences.
  • Must have valid driver's license and successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.
Preferred Experience/Skills:
  • Knowledge of Head Start performance standards and all applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations.
  • Experience working within a Head Start Program.
  • Professional Skills:
    • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) required.
    • Experience using virtual platforms and technologies, i.e. Skype, Zoom, Adobe, Teams etc.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
    • Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to work with all levels of internal staff, as well as outside clients and vendors.
