Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead our Municipal engineering discipline. This individual will be responsible for developing a Municipal/Public Agency client base and cross-selling all of our firm's services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective work plans and man-hour budgets for approval by Department Manager.
  • Monitor time schedules and capital cost budgets on projects to satisfy the client as well as control work and productivity.
  • Prepare advanced engineering designs and/or technical data for completion and accuracy.
  • Ensure quality control/quality assurance process on all assigned projects.
  • Oversee the work and productivity on assigned projects.
  • Achieve predetermined goals for profit, productivity targets, and schedule of deliverables.
  • Participate in formulating and coordinating proposals and provide other Marketing support, including Business Development.
  • Identify project team, work packages and tasks, evaluation methods, productivity targets, schedule of deliverables and man power needed on projects.
  • Hold team meetings ensuring procedures governing review and approval of projects are followed prior to submission of completed work.
  • Negotiate with clients on any scope changes relative to project budgets and schedules subject to supervisors' approval.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with all employees involved in the project to ensure high utilization rates.
  • Review monthly man-hour and cost reports to ensure projects are being completed at the pre-determined goal.
  • Ensure everyone involved is working in accordance with all project planning and profit control procedures.
  • Discuss all scope revisions affecting the project schedule and/or budget with the client.
  • Solicit help and involvement from Department Managers and any other managers to troubleshoot any technical problems.
  • Work efficiently with the Billing Department to authorize and transmit bills to client. Follow up with clients for timely payments.
  • Mentor junior staff in learning sound technical and business practices, and enhancing corporate objectives.
  • Attend evening council or planning board meetings as required.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineering License preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of all aspects of municipal engineering including capital project design, stormwater management, utility design, cost estimating, construction administration, land use, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of the regulatory permitting process for the region.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Proven track record with client management and business development.
  • Ability to manage staff.
  • Experience with preparing proposals, developing budgets, tracking budgets and the associated financial management skills necessary to run a team and monitor the performance of business.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
