Position Summary
The Construction Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily planning and execution of construction projects executed by both Company and contractor teams. This role ensures that all projects adhere to Company standards, specifications, schedules, and requirements, ultimately maximizing Return on Investment (ROI). The supervisor will also manage construction permitting processes and collaborate with both Company and contractor personnel to optimize resource allocation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that contractors adhere to Company standards and maintain necessary crew qualifications.
- Oversee construction timelines and coordinate activities with relevant departments.
- Maintain updated construction action plans and communicate priorities to the organization.
- Address escalated project concerns and collaborate with stakeholders to identify solutions.
- Review as-built drawings prior to contractor payment approval.
- Work alongside the construction planning team on technical designs and cost-effective solutions.
- Implement new construction materials and technologies as appropriate for projects.
- Identify and execute process improvements that enhance efficiency.
- Monitor staff workload to ensure alignment with project priorities.
- Balance resources and workloads to ensure effective project execution.
- Act as a liaison between union representatives and management, ensuring adherence to the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives by designing processes and establishing quality standards.
- Perform core supervisory functions including planning, organizing, and directing team activities.
Qualifications:
- Minimum: High school diploma or GED, with at least 3 years of relevant experience in facilities management or construction.
- Preferred: Associate's degree or certification in engineering or construction management; proficiency in software applications such as Microsoft Office and project management tools.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with all organizational levels.
- Analytical skills to identify key issues and recommend effective solutions.
- Comprehensive understanding of project management principles and construction processes.
- Ability to apply planning and continuous improvement principles to achieve positive outcomes.
- Skilled in managing resistance and implementing constructive feedback to prevent errors.
