We are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Addison Group. This full-time salaried exempt position offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and drafting mechanical systems, tooling, and fixtures for customer-specific capital equipment orders. They will work closely with the purchasing department to ensure efficient manufacturing processes and communicate with vendors to resolve technical issues.

This role requires strong knowledge of 3D modeling software such as Pro E Wildfire 4.0 and SolidWorks 2021, as well as experience with AutoCAD and ECN processes. The ideal candidate will also have excellent written and oral communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and knowledge of SAP.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create machine designs, tooling, and fixtures for customer-specific capital equipment orders
  • Maintain accurate change logs and issue logs during the machine build process
  • Support electrical and hydraulic schematic drafting
  • Participate in capital equipment machine start-up and debug/trouble shooting
  • Work with purchasing and vendors to ensure correct and efficient manufacturing
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of two years' experience with 3D modeling software and 2D designing/drafting
  • Hands-on experience with machining, sheet metal, welding, and assembling fixtures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Project, Word, and Excel
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of SAP a plus
