OVERVIEW

The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the design, integration, and enhancement of manufacturing systems and associated processes through automation, tooling, and materials management. This role ensures optimal utilization of materials and equipment to achieve superior product quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversees and maintains manufacturing techniques and processes for products, including equipment, automation, tooling, fixtures, hand tools, materials, and facilities. Innovates methods and processes as needed.
  • Diagnoses and resolves issues related to new or existing products concerning designs, materials, or processes.
  • Establishes and implements process control protocols, including automation and equipment enhancements that boost production efficiency and align with manufacturing goals.
  • Defines the sequence of operations, equipment, and resource utilization to ensure effective operations and functioning equipment.
  • Creates and executes assembly and detailed drawings, including basic electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics, bills of materials, written work instructions, and operation and maintenance manuals.
  • Generates status reports and other project deliverables for both internal and external stakeholders, facilitating all relevant meetings.
  • Provides training to technical and production personnel on the operation, maintenance, and repair of automation equipment.
  • Contributes to business expansion by advising on capital projects, such as enhancing manufacturing capacity, acquiring new machinery, and adopting innovative technologies, while making recommendations for new production processes and equipment. Applies continuous improvement methodologies as appropriate.
  • Manages projects by developing and distributing project timelines, leading meetings, and ensuring that assigned actions are completed on schedule.
  • Enhances the engineering community's capabilities by actively sharing knowledge and providing mentorship.
  • Performs additional related duties as required or directed.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of engineering experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficient in using mechanical and electrical hand tools, handheld power tools, and measurement devices as necessary.
  • Ability to develop process documentation for use in manufacturing and assembly environments.
  • Skilled in writing and professionally presenting technical information to small groups.
  • Strong working knowledge of 3D CAD software.
  • Basic understanding of electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic principles.
  • Experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies, Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Familiarity with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
  • Excellent time management and project management skills.
  • Must be eligible to access information regulated under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Five (5) years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with SAP software.
  • Familiarity with Solid Edge software.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • While performing job duties, the employee may occasionally be required to engage in standard physical activities within the facility (e.g., standing, walking, sitting, using hands/fingers).
  • Occasional non-standard physical activities may be required (e.g., climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching).
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • This position may involve repetitive hand/wrist activities.
