The Northside Christian Health Center is seeking a highly skilled Public Health Dental Hygiene Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our dental hygiene team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to our patients, promoting oral health and wellness, and contributing to the overall mission of our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Dental Care Services: Perform dental measures designed to preserve teeth and prevent the spread of oral disease, including topical fluoride treatments, screenings, and evaluations, supra and sub-gingival scaling and curettage, and oral radiography.
- Education and Prevention: Provide dental education and prevention services to patients, including initiating dental prevention and education, and promoting healthy oral habits.
- Record Keeping and Documentation: Maintain accurate and thorough clinical documentation in our electronic medical record system.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with medical and behavioral health staff to provide interdisciplinary care to patients, and communicate effectively with patients and staff.
- Administrative Tasks: Assist with administrative tasks, including ordering dental supplies and materials, and maintaining instrumentation for dental hygiene treatment.
- Licensure and Certification: Must be a licensed Public Health Dental Hygiene Practitioner eligible to practice in the State of Pennsylvania.
- Knowledge and Experience: Must have current knowledge of and practice experience in dental hygiene, public health orientation, and current certifications in BCLS, Radiology, OSHA/HIPAA, and individual liability insurance.
- Physical Demands: Prolonged sitting and/or standing and moving about throughout the workday, potential exposure to biohazardous materials, and requires vision and hearing in normal range.
