Job Summary

We are seeking a Product Development Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our sales and development team, you will be responsible for driving the growth of our product lines through sales, marketing, and product development initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to increase corporate sales and profit dollars through the sale, marketing, product development, and promotion of our product line.
  • Direct customer contact and up to 30% travel may be required.
  • Marketing Initiatives

    • Maintain current pricing from multiple vendors providing system auxiliary components.
    • Establish and maintain current pricing for our mill components for all respective models.
    • Establish and maintain current literature on key competitors and perform a SWOT analysis for each competitive line.
    • Establish and maintain a dynamic file of all materials processed with results.
  • Sales Efforts

    • Promptly respond to customer and representative inquiries by phone, email, or mail as required.
    • Set up, assist in running, and provide reporting on customer lab trials.
    • Select and size system components to support product lines.
    • Create and submit complex proposals as required.
    • Follow up on leads and proposals until closure.
    • Work with global and domestic representative network to promote sales.
  • Product Development

    • Provide ongoing feedback on potential improvements to existing product lines.
    • Provide market feedback to engineering and marketing teams.
    • Coordinate with engineering to incorporate product changes which have demonstrated customer appeal.
    • Actively participate on product development teams.
  • Promotion and Training

    • Seek new markets for product lines through innovation, R&D, and professional associations.
    • Recommend advertising and promotions to address specific markets or sales needs.
    • Provide training to representatives.
    • Provide seminars to customers and other influential individuals or groups to establish or maintain strong relationships.
    • Attend trade shows.
    • Write or contribute to technical articles and case histories.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a minimum of 5 years of experience in process or capital equipment sales with a preference for dust collection and/or pneumatic conveying.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.

Location

The ideal candidate will be located just outside of Boston, Massachusetts.

Estimated Salary Range

$120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
