Robotics Coach Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Robotics Coach to lead our elementary and middle school robotics teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and conducting robotics teams, scheduling and supervising team members at competitions, and fostering a climate conducive to learning and healthy competition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and conduct robotics teams, promoting a culture of innovation and teamwork.
  • Conduct selection processes to determine team members, ensuring a diverse and talented group.
  • Schedule and supervise team members at robotics competitions, ensuring a positive and competitive experience.
  • Coordinate and assign responsibilities of team members, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
  • Supervise team members during practices and competitions, providing guidance and support.
  • Foster a climate conducive to learning and healthy competition, promoting a growth mindset and sportsmanship.
  • Establish and implement practice schedules for the team, ensuring a minimum of 2 one-hour practices per week and one competition per month.
  • Promote and maintain positive pupil-teacher-parent relationships, ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Maintain professional work habits, adhering to school policies and procedures.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Holds a West Virginia Teaching Certificate.
  • Experience preferred with VEX Robotics equipment and competitions.
  • Ability to effectively plan for team activities and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others and promote a positive team culture.
  • Preferred prior completion of PLTW Launch Training.
  • Employed at the bidding site.
