Overview of the Role

Our Global Markets division provides comprehensive sales and trading solutions, including in-depth research, to institutional clients across various sectors such as fixed-income, credit, currency, and commodities. The product offerings encompass both securities and derivative instruments within primary and secondary markets.

The Commodities Analyst Internship Program is designed to offer structured training and rotations through various commodity desks, including areas such as structuring/origination, sales, oil, natural gas, power, and investor products. Interns will gain valuable experience by engaging in both sales and trading activities.

Responsibilities of the Analyst

As a Sales Analyst, your primary focus will be on cultivating and sustaining relationships with clients by aligning our services with their specific needs. This role entails collaboration with portfolio managers, research analysts, and traders to communicate investment insights, pertinent market data, and innovative marketing strategies.

In the Trading Analyst role, you will contribute in a supportive capacity, enhancing your expertise through various activities such as reviewing financial publications, shadowing experienced traders, liaising with sales teams, and generating as well as tracking trade ideas.

Additional Responsibilities May Include:

  • Engaging in commodity-related transactions, which involves deal valuation and structuring, while participating in discussions to develop tailored deal solutions for clients.
  • Collaborating with market strategists and traders to merge fundamental insights with trading strategies.
  • Assisting teams in creating marketing presentations, developing analytical models, compiling historical data, and generating reports to stimulate interest in commodities and foster new business opportunities.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, with an expected graduation timeframe between December 2025 and June 2026.
  • A minimum GPA of 3.2 is preferred.
  • Demonstrated combination of academic excellence, quantitative abilities, strategic and creative thinking, along with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Capacity to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Other valued traits include integrity, meticulous attention to detail, assertiveness, initiative, leadership qualities, a strong work ethic, and a team-oriented mindset.
  • A genuine interest in global financial markets and the commodities sector, with a keen enthusiasm for complex structures is preferred.
  • Familiarity with financial derivatives and global energy markets, along with a background in accounting, economics, mathematics, engineering, statistics, or programming is advantageous.
