As a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs, you will play a vital role in providing direct and indirect patient care to our veterans. You will work under the direction of licensed nursing staff, with limited supervision by a Nursing Supervisor, to ensure the highest level of care and support for our members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide care per a written care plan to help meet the needs of our members, including care to help maintain the demented member at the highest functional level.
- Assist in patient mobility efforts, stand and/or walk up to 75% of eight-hour day to provide assessments, kneel, stoop, make visual observations, lift, push, pull, carry, reach, maintain hygiene, use special safety equipment, and wear protective clothing.
- Work as an integral part of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care and support to our members.
Requirements:
- Ability to work varying hours and/or overtime shifts as assigned.
- Passing a pre-employment tuberculosis (TB) skin test.
- Background check prior to any offer of employment.
