Kingsbrook Registered Nurse

The Kingsbrook Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for delivering high-quality long-term care nursing services to residents of a designated unit. This role requires the ability to provide direct care, administer treatments and medications, and organize daily assignments to direct care staff. The successful candidate will have excellent clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Make daily rounds on assigned units to observe, examine, or interview residents, and to verify information from ongoing shifts to monitor regulatory compliance and to determine staff assignments.
Develop and distribute resident care assignments to direct care staff, matching resident needs with the skills of direct care staff and maintaining consistency to the extent practicable.
Direct daily assignments and evaluate the work of other caregivers, including LPNs, SRNAs, CMTs, Restorative Nursing Assistants, and Preceptor Nursing Assistants.
Provide orientation to unit and unit routines to new team members.
Requirements
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Current and active RN license as a nurse in the State of Kentucky.
Preferred Qualifications
One year experience providing direct care to residents in a long-term care setting.
Work Environment

Examples of these stresses include, but are not limited to, shift rotation, weekend and holiday duty, unusual or impaired behavior by residents, family reactions to having a loved one in the nursing home, death, and dying, oversight of state surveyors, ombudsmen and federal officials, presence of consultants and attorneys, and variable involvement of medical staff. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Constantly works near moving mechanical parts. Occasionally exposed to risk of radiation.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision. Frequently required to walk and move about. Frequently required to operate a computer and other equipment. Frequently required to use fine motor skills to handle and operate instruments/devices. Frequently required to lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds. Occasionally required to lift and/or move items up to 100 pounds. Constantly required to communicate with patients and other care team requiring talking and hearing. Occasionally required to position self in order to meet patient needs.
