As the Lead Pharmacy Manager, you will collaborate with the Vice President of Operations to develop an exceptional pharmacy service tailored for the IDD and behavioral health sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the pharmacy operations, including managing pharmacists, technicians, and distribution personnel.
  • Direct the workflow processes related to order entry, initial order assessments, and daily and cycle-fill production activities.
  • Stay informed on industry regulations and compliance developments (e.g., State Board of Pharmacy, DEA, FDA) and collaborate with the pharmacy leadership team to address any changes.
  • Educate and inform staff on pharmacy-related matters, including regulatory updates and FDA drug recalls.
  • Implement policies and procedures for the procurement, storage, security, and disposal of medications within the pharmacy.
  • Ensure all pharmacy and technician licenses and registrations are maintained as mandated by state regulations.
  • Work with leadership to address any communications or warnings from regulatory bodies.
  • Enforce policies and procedures that uphold the integrity and confidentiality of prescription and patient health information, ensuring compliance from all pharmacy employees.
  • Maintain accurate records for all controlled substances and prescriptions.
  • Assist leadership in responding to and resolving inquiries from regulatory surveys.
  • Perform all duties with a friendly, positive, and collaborative approach.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Tarrytown Expocare leadership team.
Qualifications
  • Possession of a valid Florida Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist License is required.
  • A minimum of five years of pharmacy practice experience, with management experience in long-term care preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in a pharmacy management role.
  • Proven experience in maintaining regulatory compliance with state and federal agencies.
  • Experience with pharmacy system transitions is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to set and manage team objectives and KPIs, fostering accountability and a performance-oriented culture.
  • Experience in redesigning and streamlining workflow processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Familiarity with FrameworkLTC is a plus but not required.
  • A positive demeanor and the ability to work effectively within a team are crucial.
  • Capability to perform well in a high-pressure and occasionally stressful environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software is necessary.
  • Ability to de-escalate and resolve issues within the pharmacy setting.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to endure extended periods of computer use and desk work.
  • Willingness to stand or be on your feet as necessary.
  • Availability for on-site collaboration with other leadership members.
