We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Water and Safety Instructor to join our team at the Mandel JCC of the Palm Beaches. As a Water and Safety Instructor, you will be responsible for creating a positive learning environment for swim instruction for all age groups, with a focus on safety, proper skill development, and promoting both competitive swim and team goals.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the safety of swim team/lesson members, performing lifesaving and/or first aid procedures when necessary.
- Enforce team rules and policies, as well as pool rules and regulations.
- Provide instruction to swim team members, enhancing their swimming skills and development.
- Communicate regularly with participants and their parents, as appropriate, to ensure they are aware of progress.
- Perform various clerical duties in support of the swim team, including responding to parents and swimmers' questions and memos, creating workouts, taking attendance, and assisting with meet entries as needed.
- Current certification as an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor.
- Current Certification in American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer is required.
- Current certifications in the following are preferred: American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and First Aid.
The work environment for lifeguards is usually hot and humid. The noise level in the work environment is usually high.
