Nuclear Medicine Technologist I PRN Nuclear Medicine Days

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist I at Houston Methodist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and adhering to radiation standards and guidelines established by governing agencies. This position is responsible for completing a variety of routine nuclear medicine procedures of moderate complexity using radioactive substances. You will provide direct assistance to physicians with all diagnostic and special nuclear medicine procedures, delivering personalized care and service by consistently demonstrating our I CARE values: INTEGRITY, COMPASSION, ACCOUNTABILITY, RESPECT, and EXCELLENCE.
Responsibilities
- Perform nuclear medicine procedures, utilizing radioactive substances to provide accurate and complete diagnostic imaging.
- Provide direct assistance to physicians during diagnostic or therapeutic interventions, including assisting with sterile technique.
- Assess, identify, and respond to the needs of patients for adjustment or intervention to optimize patient care, image quality, and patient experience.
- Follow safety standards and conduct all imaging procedures accordingly, using ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) to protect patients, staff, and the general public.
Requirements
- Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated below in the Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations section.
- ARRT-N - Radiologic Technologist - Nuclear Medicine Tech (ARRT) or CNMT - Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB) and CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist - State Licensure - Registration as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT-GC) thru the Texas Medical Board or CMRT-Temp - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist - Temporary State Licensure and BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA).
