Project Leader: Education Content Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Leader to join our Education Group at Save the Water. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a team of volunteers in producing high-quality content that increases public awareness about water contamination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Edit, publish, and monitor content to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Manage the editorial calendar to ensure timely production of content.
  • Update and maintain the style guide to ensure high-quality materials.
  • Optimize webpages for search engines using keywords developed by our web analysts.
  • Regularly monitor webpages for broken and error links.
  • Assist in writing educational content when needed.
  • Design graphics for the website as required.
  • Lead a team of 3-4 volunteers, assigning and following up on tasks, and providing assistance and mentorship.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director to brainstorm and develop the Editorial Calendar.
  • Deliver project updates at monthly Education Group meetings.
  • Provide monthly reports of team progress to the President, Vice President, and Director of Education.
Requirements
  • Excellent content writing skills, including grammar and punctuation.
  • Demonstrated experience as a writer, editor, and/or proofreader.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field (e.g. Environmental Science, Physical Sciences, Engineering, or other related fields) and/or Education.
  • Previous laboratory experience in academic/industrial research.
  • Previous experience with WordPress.
  • Graphic design skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously.
  • Effective oral communication skills and ability to work cooperatively with staff.
  • Innovative thinker who is passionate about our cause.
What We Offer

As a virtual organization, we rely on multiple Google platforms to support our workflow and communication. Continuous access to the internet is required. Availability during US Eastern Time Zone is preferred.
