Our people are our greatest asset, and we are seeking a qualified and driven individual to join our Onshore Resources & Carbon Management team as a Well Operations Engineer.

This role involves collaborating with the Well Service Team to enhance the engineering and operational aspects of well service activities across our Permian operations.

The ideal candidate will serve as a key link between Workover and Completion Specialists (WOCS) and Asset Engineers (AE), addressing challenges associated with complex wells.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Addressing daily operational challenges with problem wells
  • Collaborating with regulatory bodies, both internal and external
  • Tackling overarching efficiency issues
  • Streamlining well work processes
  • Offering valuable insights to AE's procedures, recommendations, and AFE's
  • Providing 24/7 consultation to WOCs regarding operational concerns.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 3-5 years of experience in production or completions engineering
  • Proven leadership in safety practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting
  • Strong persuasive skills – demonstrated ability to present recommendations and gain support from various stakeholders
  • Ability to make sound technical and economic recommendations with limited information and tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in conducting economic evaluations of projects, including risk assessments
  • Project management experience and skills
  • Competent in using MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
Proficient in technical and economic software applications

  • Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to apply petroleum engineering principles to resolve issues
  • Experience with various artificial lift methods
  • Familiarity with oilfield chemistry related to corrosion, scale, and paraffin deposition
  • Experience with water and CO2 flooding is advantageous
  • Previous involvement in Permian Basin operations is a plus
