Catering Supervisor Job Summary

The Catering Supervisor is a key member of our team, responsible for leading the hourly workforce to execute catering events. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and team management skills to ensure the quality of products and services provided to our customers meets or exceeds standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise team members in their area of responsibility, consulting with management as needed to improve services.
  • Follow established Parkhurst and client policies and procedures, upholding standards.
  • Communicate using Smile Plus skills and coach team members on their use of the Smile Plus hospitality imperatives.
  • Assist in purchasing foods and supplies, maintaining presence in service areas to assess customer satisfaction levels and resolve problems.
  • Ensure practices and procedures comply with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Follow human resource policies and procedures, treating team members with fairness and respect.
  • Orient and train staff, presenting in-service training programs as needed.
  • Communicate to staff regularly, holding team meetings to ensure staff awareness of department activities.
  • Enforce safety standards with team members, reporting safety problems to management.
  • Maintain morale on their shift through a sense of urgency, professionalism, and team building.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of catered events, performing hands-on tasks as required by the operation.
Requirements:
  • Three or more years of professional experience, with one or more years in a catering supervisory role.
  • Strong planning and organizational abilities, with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software programs.
  • High school or GED.
