About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Non-Destructive Test Engineer II to join our team at Raytheon. As a key member of our Materials and Process Engineering section, you will be responsible for performing non-destructive testing tasks to support production operations, developmental design, and failure analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform various non-destructive testing tasks, including radiographic testing, ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, and penetrant testing.
  • Develop and implement unique test plans, proper sequencing, and validate inspection techniques and setups.
  • Collaborate with engineers to analyze and interpret results, and communicate findings with engineering customers and document on engineering reports.
  • Audit suppliers for compliance and perform quality control functions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience, or 9+ years of experience in absence of a degree.
  • NAS 410 Level 2 or 3 Certification in multiple methods, including ultrasonic, radiography, magnetic particle, and fluorescent penetrant testing.
  • Experience in using multiple non-destructive test methods, including digital radiography, film radiography, ultrasonic testing, and acoustic microscopy testing.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience interpreting and developing NDT procedures and technique sheets.
  • Strong background in non-destructive inspection of aerospace products, including composites, castings, welds, braze joints, microcircuits, and computer card assemblies.
  • NAS 410 Level 3 Certification in ultrasonic contact/immersion/C-SAM/acoustic microscopy testing, radiographic film/filmless testing, fluorescent/visible dye penetrant testing, magnetic particle wet/dry testing, and visual/weld inspections.
  • Knowledge of MIL STD 883 & 750, JEDEC J-STD-035, IPC A 610, IPC J-STD-001, and other failure analysis equipment.
