Job Title: Verification of Benefits Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Verification of Benefits Specialist to join our team at Avenues Recovery Center. As a key member of our Admissions Office, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth processing of prospective clients' insurance benefits.

Job Summary:

The Verification of Benefits Specialist will be responsible for verifying prospective clients' insurance benefits, ensuring accurate documentation, and communicating benefits information to clients and staff. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify prospective clients' insurance benefits using online and telephonic systems
  • Ensure accurate documentation of benefits information in our system and other related systems/technologies
  • Communicate benefits information to clients and staff in a clear and concise manner
  • Work collaboratively with the Admissions Office staff and other departments to support desired outcomes for clients
  • Adhere to all regulatory and compliance policies while exhibiting compassion, professionalism, and care for clients
Requirements:
  • High School or GED required
  • Experience working with commercial insurance and CMS
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated experience providing empathetic, compassionate, and professional care for individuals in need
  • Experience using Salesforce and Availity
  • Experience (professionally or personally) in the treatment of addiction or mental health
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands
