Maintenance Planning Supervisor Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Planning Supervisor to join our team at Now Hiring Heroes, Inc. in West Point, VA.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Planning Supervisor will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our paper mill by effectively planning and scheduling maintenance activities. This position requires a strong understanding of maintenance planning and scheduling principles, as well as excellent organizational and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance plans and schedules for all equipment and machinery within the paper mill.
  • Collaborate with maintenance technicians, engineers, and production managers to prioritize maintenance activities based on equipment criticality and production requirements.
  • Utilize Enterprise Asset & Procurement Management (EPAM) process to manage mill workflow and equipment.
  • Monitor and analyze equipment performance data to identify potential issues and proactively schedule preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Coordinate with procurement and inventory management teams to ensure availability of spare parts and materials required for maintenance activities.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to assess maintenance needs and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to record maintenance activities, track equipment history, and generate reports.
  • Lead and supervise a team of 6-8 maintenance planners and coordinators, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Implement best practices and standards for maintenance planning and scheduling to optimize resource utilization and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards in all maintenance activities.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, efficiency, and performance of equipment and processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial or chemical engineering.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in maintenance planning and scheduling and/or mechanical engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or manufacturing mill environment.
  • Proficiency in using CMMS software and other relevant computer applications.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Enterprise Asset & Procurement Management (EPAM) process.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Experience managing departmental budget.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and supervise a team.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and environmental standards applicable to industrial operations.
