About the Position

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced dance faculty member to join our department at St. Olaf College. As an Assistant Professor of Dance, you will be responsible for teaching a variety of dance courses, including dance theory and practice areas, as well as contributing to the development of our dance program.

Responsibilities
  • Teach dance courses, including dance theory and practice areas, to undergraduate students
  • Develop and implement curriculum for dance courses, including syllabi and assessments
  • Contribute to the development of our dance program, including advising students and mentoring dance majors
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to departmental decisions
  • Engage in scholarly activities, including research and publication, to maintain expertise in the field
Qualifications
  • M.F.A. in Dance or Ph.D. in Dance or a related field
  • At least 2 years of higher education teaching experience
  • Experience in contemporary, inclusive teaching and artistic practices
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students
