Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Oral Surgery Clinical Assistant to join our esteemed oral surgery practice. As an Oral Surgery Clinical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our oral surgeons and ensuring the highest level of patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Assist oral surgeons during surgical procedures, providing chair-side assistance and anticipating their needs.
  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments, ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Welcome and prepare patients for their oral surgery appointments, including taking and recording their vital signs and medical history.
  • Educate patients about post-operative care instructions, medication usage, and potential complications.
  • Perform dental radiographs and other diagnostic tests as required.
  • Administer local anesthesia and monitor patients during sedation.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and update electronic health records.
  • Schedule appointments, handle patient inquiries, and manage patient flow.
  • Collaborate with the front office staff and assist with billing, insurance claims, and financial arrangements.
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of dental supplies and equipment.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation in the oral surgery practice.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assisting program is preferred.
  • Previous experience in oral surgery or a surgical setting is highly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of oral surgery procedures, instruments, and materials.
  • Proficient computer skills and experience with electronic health records.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize with patients and provide reassurance.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to handle a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a high standard of infection control and safety.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and follow instructions effectively.
