Automotive Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team at GPAC. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our company's fleet of vehicles and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, heavy equipment, and other vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot issues with diesel engines and equipment to determine the root cause of the problem.
- Parts and Supplies: Coordinate with our Manager to ensure that the necessary parts and supplies are available when needed.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Supervision: Supervise the Mechanic's Helper and ensure that they are performing their duties to the required standard.
- Safety: Operate vehicles and equipment in a safe manner at all times and follow all safety guidelines and regulations.
- Environmental Compliance: Ensure that all work is completed in compliance with environmental regulations and that all waste is disposed of properly.
- Shop Maintenance: Maintain the shop area and all tools, shop vehicles, and equipment in a clean and organized manner.
- Travel: Drive shop vehicles to various plant sites, road calls, or other sites of broken equipment.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience maintaining and repairing diesel engines and heavy equipment.
- Certifications: Valid driver's license, CDL preferred, DOT certification, ASE certifications preferred, and Mack or other specialized training preferred.
