Customer Service Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Service Representative/OT Tech. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, family members, and guests to the outpatient rehab department.
Key Responsibilities- Greets and directs patients to the treating Physical and/or Occupational Therapist or Physical Therapist and/or Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- Confirms patients have all necessary information for service to be accomplished.
- Serves as a representative of our facility to the public, both in person and over the phone.
- Maintains the wait screen to ensure patients are received in the appropriate order.
- Records patient information, copies insurance cards, and submits face sheets to the HIM department and Business Office.
- Answers telephone calls in a timely manner and distributes messages.
- Schedules patients for Physical Therapy and obtains insurance authorization for new patients.
- Administers physical and/or occupational therapy treatments to patients under the direction of Physical Therapist and/or Physical Therapist Assistant, Occupational Therapist and/or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- Supervises patients in their performance of active therapeutic exercises and administers heat, sound, and electrical modality treatments.
- Instructs, motivates, and assists patients to learn and improve functional activities.
- Observes patients during treatments and compiles and evaluates data on patients' responses to treatments and progress.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High school diploma required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with EPIC and insurance authorizations a plus.
This role requires good physical health and the ability to stand, sit, or walk for long periods of time. Lifting at least 10 pounds is required.
Constant talking, hearing, and seeing are required. Frequently, carrying, balancing, stooping, crouching, and reaching are required.
