Position Overview

As an After-School Educator at Primrose School of Fort Mill, you will play a crucial role in guiding young learners as they explore and understand their surroundings. We are looking for a passionate and experienced individual to join our team in delivering a comprehensive program of activities that foster the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth of each child enrolled in our after-school initiative, aligned with the Primrose Balanced Learning philosophy.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily operations and supervision of a group of children.
  • Adhere to all regulations and guidelines set forth by Primrose and relevant local, state, or national agencies regarding child health, safety, and care.
  • Execute the approved lesson plans and daily schedules in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum.
  • Maintain a welcoming and well-organized classroom environment that encourages creativity, exploration, and confident decision-making among children.
  • Provide positive reinforcement and clear expectations for children's behavior.
  • Take responsibility for the upkeep and cleanliness of the classroom, shared spaces, and playgrounds.
  • Participate in all mandatory staff meetings, workshops, and school events.
  • Exhibit a professional appearance in line with the standards outlined in the Primrose Employee Handbook.
  • Assist in additional tasks as determined necessary by the Director or designated personnel.

Qualifications:
  • Must fulfill the basic requirements set by the local child care regulatory agency.
  • Prior experience in a teaching or assistant teaching role within a licensed early childhood program is preferred.
  • Understanding of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. for the safe handling of children during activities and emergencies.
  • A two-year degree in early childhood education or a related field is preferred.
  • A degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, and/or a CDA is preferred.
  • Familiarity with elementary-level curriculum, particularly in literacy, mathematics, and science, is preferred.
