Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily activities and overall supervision of a group of children.
- Adhere to all regulations set forth by Primrose School of Fort Mill and relevant local, state, or national agencies regarding child health, safety, and care.
- Continuously assess each child's developmental needs.
- Implement approved lesson plans and daily schedules in line with the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum.
- Collaborate with the Leadership Team to organize parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations.
- Maintain an inviting and well-organized classroom that encourages exploration and decision-making.
- Provide positive reinforcement and clear expectations for children's behavior.
- Take responsibility for the upkeep of the classroom and shared spaces.
- Participate in all required staff meetings, workshops, and school events.
- Uphold a professional appearance in accordance with the Primrose School of Fort Mill Employee Handbook.
- Assist in other duties as determined necessary by the Director or their designee.
Desired Qualifications:
- Must meet the basic requirements of the local child care regulatory agency.
- A minimum of 6 months of experience as a lead teacher is required.
- Prior experience in a licensed early childhood program is preferred.
- Understanding of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. for child handling and safety purposes.
- For Infant and Young Toddler teachers, a 2-year degree in early childhood or a related field is preferred.
- For Pre-Kindergarten Teachers, a 4-year degree in early childhood or a related field is required.
- For Kindergarten Teachers, a 4-year degree in early childhood and state certification is required.
