Job Summary

Labcorp is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Specimen Accessioner to join our team in Saint Paul, MN. As a Specimen Accessioner, you will be responsible for receiving, unpacking, and preparing samples for entry, verifying and entering patient information into our database, labeling and stabilizing samples for testing, and sorting and delivering samples to multiple technical areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, unpack, and prepare samples for entry (blood, urine, body fluids, and non-biological samples)
  • Verify and enter patient information into database
  • Label and stabilize sample for testing
  • Sort and deliver samples to multiple technical areas
  • Store, retrieve, and dispose of samples based on life cycle
  • Meet key production metrics while maintaining high quality standards
  • Identify and flag sample issues that may impact testing
  • Follow all safety protocols to ensure your safety and the safety of others
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Able to work independently under general supervision
  • Able to pass a standardized color blind test
  • Must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 50-lbs
  • Strong data entry/10-key and organizational skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Medical/clinical laboratory experience a plus
