Position Overview: The successful candidate will oversee the electro-mechanical assembly and testing of Econolite's industry-leading traffic controllers, detection systems, and other electronic products. The Senior Electro-Mechanical Assembly Leader will manage workflow and scheduling, mentor assembly technicians, and ensure the production of high-quality products delivered on time. We seek a detail-oriented individual with extensive experience in electro-mechanical assembly, testing, and repair, coupled with a robust understanding of electronic components, schematics, and sheet metal parts, as well as experience in leading production teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide and mentor electro-mechanical assemblers and testers in the assembly and testing of electronic products.
  • Adhere to documented work instructions for electro-mechanical assembly, testing/troubleshooting, burn-in testing, and packaging of all electronic products as a senior technician.
  • Ensure accurate labeling of products and subassemblies, conduct necessary quality inspections, and maintain comprehensive production test records.
  • Oversee scheduling and workflow, delegate tasks, and monitor daily activities of assemblers and testers, generating end-of-day production reports.
  • Maintain high production quality with a strong focus on urgency and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct brief daily production meetings, engage in production status discussions with the Operations team, and manage action items effectively.
  • Collaborate with Quality Control and repair/warranty teams regarding production processes and electronic failures. Participate in internal and external ISO audits.
  • Provide constructive feedback for employee performance evaluations and proactively work towards enhancing team performance.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electro-mechanical product assembly and testing.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a production lead or supervisory role.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in soldering micro-electronics.
  • Technical training and certification preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proficient in using hand tools, hand soldering equipment, and standard electronic assembly tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented work instructions.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Capability to lift over 35 pounds.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with peers and supervisors.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

All candidates who accept employment will undergo a background investigation and drug screening. For applicable roles, candidates will also be subject to a Motor Vehicle/Driving Record screening.

Compensation:

The base pay range for this full-time non-exempt position is $32.00 per hour, plus benefits. Pay ranges are determined by various factors, including role, experience, and location.
