Job Overview

The Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician is tasked with conducting preventative maintenance and executing both major and minor repairs on various types of ground service equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on company ground support equipment.
  2. Perform intricate repairs on vehicles, encompassing both electrical and mechanical systems.
  3. Service fuel farm machinery.
  4. Execute diagnostic evaluations (including electrical diagnostics) on vehicles and equipment to ascertain repair requirements.
  5. Manage the ordering, receiving, and inventorying of parts and supplies.
  6. Maintain comprehensive maintenance records for all equipment and report any significant maintenance needs to management, while coordinating with contract maintenance personnel as necessary.
  7. Support line service technicians on the ramp as required.

Required Competencies
  1. Ability to interpret both printed and digital maintenance manuals.
  2. Familiarity with various maintenance tools, including jacks, overhead cranes, hoists, and other necessary equipment.
  3. Proficient in completing forms and paperwork legibly.
  4. Strong computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.
  5. Basic mathematical skills.
  6. Knowledge of carburetion, electrical systems, brake systems, and gas engines.
  7. Understanding of hydraulic systems.
  8. Demonstrated organizational skills.
Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to the FBO Manager.

Work Environment

The role involves outdoor work in varying weather conditions and includes direct interaction with both moving and stationary aircraft. The position may expose the employee to hazardous noise levels, chemicals, fumes, and machinery.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands listed below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

  1. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally and frequently lift over 50 pounds.
  2. Potential exposure to hazardous noise levels, chemicals, fumes, and machinery.
  3. Outdoor work in all weather conditions.
  4. Job requires bending, lifting, walking, stooping, squatting, gripping, and climbing ladders.
Position Type and Hours

This is a non-exempt position.

Travel Requirements

No travel is anticipated for this role.

Qualifications
  1. A minimum of four (4) years of experience as a vehicle technician.
  2. ASE certification is preferred.
  3. Two (2) years of technical training in ground service equipment maintenance is preferred.
  4. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  5. Acceptable driving record.
  6. Ability to pass a background check.
  7. Commitment to a drug-free workplace, including pre-employment and random screenings.
