Job Summary:

As an Orthopedic Care Specialist at Kaiser Permanente, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care. You will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each patient. Responsibilities:

  • Obtain a pertinent medical history, perform an appropriate physical examination, and review relevant laboratory or radiologic studies to assess the patient's medical, physical, psychological, and relevant socio-economic status.
  • Formulate an accurate and appropriate diagnosis based on elicited data, and include differential diagnoses as appropriate.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that are aligned with the practice preferences of the Collaborating/Supervising Physician(s), including orders for medication and/or other treatment modalities, the need for additional testing, consultation to other providers, and follow-up provisions.
  • Provide care with attention to safety, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
  • Plan are appropriately prioritized and adapted to the patient and circumstance.

Requirements:

  • Masters Degree in Nursing or Bachelors Degree in a related field.
  • Graduation from an accredited graduate nursing program or a program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
  • Physician Assistant License (Colorado) or Advanced Practice Nurse Registration (Colorado).
  • Basic Life Support within 3 months of hire.
  • Drug Enforcement Administration Registration.
  • National Provider Identifier required at hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ortho experience preferred or specific certified subspecialized training in Orthopedics preferred.
  • UC or ED experience preferred.
